The Shima 98 is an all mountain/ freeride ski geared towards intermediate riders as its flex is a medium to stiff. The flex increases the skis to give you precision riding on technical terrain. The 14-metre turn radium is on the shorter side to give you quick tight turns on groomers, however it will feel natural over powder. Overall these skis are designed for intermediate level as they are responsive. The Shima 98 uses a freeride rocker, this mild camber in the centre gives the skis snap and pop, plus a more aggressive edge hold. Whilst rocker in the tip and tail help initiate turns and float over powder. The rocker in the nose is larger to give you extra lift in the backcountry.
A solid lightweight poplar core gives the skis a consistent flex and naturally creates a dampening feeling. Full sidewalls around the edge of the skis add protection for the core and increase the stability of the skis when you’re turning. The sidewalls add power to the ski and improve your edge hold for better performance across all terrain. This ski comes with a Lithium 10 GW binding made by Salmon which is mounted on a track system making it easy to adjust.
